Not everything goes exactly according to plan. And, as with most all things in life, there can be misunderstandings, errors, omissions, etc., at virtually every step along the way.

When your project is not going according to plan, the signs and symptoms are often confusing. It's not easy to see what the true root cause is.

Enter our Project Assessment. Using a methodology developed and practiced hundreds of times over the past 20+ years at several major research and development companies, we can provide a quick, deep assessment of your project and it's probability of meeting your customer's needs. This method is used (a) to provide an upper management team with useful insights about an R&D project, (b) provide information to be able to constructively & objectively discuss project shortcomings (real or perceived) with customers.

First we ask you or your customer to carefully and thoughtfully write down the Problem Statement. We will coach you through this all important step to ensure that all pertinent aspects (form, function, fit, aka what, when, why, ...) are fully and completely captured in 1-3 pages. Then we ask the project development team to sit down with a review team for a 1-3 day review of the project. That review team is specially assembed for your situation and consists of experienced R&D professionals with dozens, and if needed hundreds, of years of experience. All have advanced degrees from the School of Hard Knocks. This review may require preparation of some review material, or you may be able to use existing requirements, design, test, ... documentation. This highly focused review, while sometimes uncomfortable, allows us to find the things that are working, and not working, in your project.

Finally, a detailed review report, sometimes covering hundreds of topics, is produced for upper management. If requested, we can include suggestions for change, and upper management follow-up sessions.
